Application for Final Certificate
At the end of the Defects Liability Period, which generally is 365 days after the issuance of the Taking Over certificate you can apply for the Final Certificate. In order for the Engineer to issue the Final Certificate the Contract requires that he has in possession or have received the following documents, certificates, material or clearances.
- Sets of As-Built Drawings (hard and soft copies)
- Sets of Test Certificates, Results, Reports and Records
- Sets of Testing and Commissioning Reports inclusive of Completed Check Sheets
- Guarantees, Warranties and Extended Warranties
- Spare Parts and Replacement Parts
- Sets of Special Tools for Operation and Maintenance purposes
- Training Sessions for the Employer's Operations and Maintenance Staff
- Inspecting Authorities Final Approval Certificates upon completion of the Works
- Municipality Certificate of Completion for Whole of the Works
- Taking Over Certificate
- Confirmation of Completion of Works not completed at time of Taking Over Certificate
- Confirmation of Making Good Defects
- List of Outstanding Defects Not Yet Made Good
- Confirmation of Expiry of Defects Liability Period
- Confirmation of Expiry of Extended Defects Liability Period in respect of Defects instructed after Taking Over
- Confirmation of Anticipated Expiry of Defects Liability Period in respect of Outstanding Defects Not Yet Made Good
- All other Contra Charges have been deducted
- Final Account complete with Supporting Documentation
- Final Statement
- Final Certificate Application from Contractor
- Letter of Discharge from Contractor
Once the the Final certificate is issued all obligations under the Contract is considered fullfilled and completed. All outstanding Retentions and Performance Bonds must be released within 28 days of receipt of the Certificate. |
